Blue
Force Gear Breacher's Sling
Deemed
the "Anaconda"
For A Reason
After
adjusting the Blue Force Gear breacher's sling for a day on the range, my
initial thought was an immediate need to lay off the strawberry Pop Tarts
and Red Bull.
I
now know why Blue Force Gear has deemed their Breacher's sling the
"Anaconda".
I
will admit, with its wide strap, the Blue Force Gear breacher's sling did
take some getting used to. Out of the package, the sling appeared as if it
would be bulky and cumbersome and I had even contemplated sending it back
to the company. Nonetheless, after calling the folks at Blue Force and
benevolently relaying my initial thoughts, it was learned that this sling
was a design, based off of feedback from various users as far as, what
they sought in an ideal breacher's sling.
After
approximately four hundred rounds of ammo, not only did the sling prevent
any "rolling" or "digging in", that a narrower sling
may produce, it became quit comfortable and somewhat unobtrusive.
On
the range, I dropped my primary weapon and transitioned to my secondary
with no problems or loss of speed. The
need to transition from left side to right side was also easily
accomplished with no sign of interference from the slings wide strap.
There was also little worry about the sling getting tangled up when
transitioning from one shoulder to the other (in quick reaction
situations), as the sling provides little to no movement separating it
from your body.
The
sling distributes the weight of the weapon equally down the center of your
body to the point where you can stand comfortably in one spot and not feel
pain in your neck or shoulders. In addition, while the weapon was allowed
to "hang", there was minimal bounce between the weapon and my
person during fast pace or rapid scenarios.
Creating
a close, tight pocket and the ability to be used ambidextrous, this
breacher's sling was an enjoyable surprise compared to other bungee slings
made with cord or tubing.
Good
The
sling was comfortable. A pleasant surprise based off of its bulky
appearance.
Allowed
for a tight and relaxed pocket with little to no rolling or digging.
Available
in 4 colors and priced right!
Bad
Would
like to have seen a more detailed look and or instructions of the sling
being worn, included with the packaging. For the novice, it may be unclear
as to how the sling is to be worn.
